From The Sunday Roast: YorWorld

Published 15th Jan 2012

Its a year since our first show and we're celebrating in style. On the show this week West End Star Helena Blackman, known for her appearance on 'How Do You Solve a Problem like Maria', speaks to John Wakefield about her life in the musicals industry and her latest solo tour, as well as about how she got to meet Stephen Sondheim. We'll also be joined by acclaimed British composer and conductor Ronald Corp who was recently awarded an OBE in the New Years Honors’ List, Plus our nationally acclaimed drama previews will return with a look at Dramasoc’s Week 2 production ‘Stars in the Morning Sky’. If that wasn't enough we'll take listeners on a personal tour of the York Art Gallery's exhibition on the works of William Etty by the museums curator Laura Turner. SASSY will be telling us whats going on this term and and we speak to a member of the Sasaki Trio who are appearing at the Sir Jack Lyons concert hall this week, And we'll have LIVE MUSIC from York student band 'Climbing Trees'.
